I was pretty excited when I saw the mini palette in the July 2013 Ipsy bag. I immediately thought, "wow, that could be a sunset" and this is one of the looks that I came up with. I wear this pretty often, because it's just so pretty in the summer~like a mini sunset for everyone to enjoy ;)
You don't have to own this palette to create this look--just use similar colors. I do recommend BH Cosmetics, though, because it's really affordable (this palette is on sale for like $9, right now). More importantly, the pigmentation and wear are both really awesome.
Alright, this is super easy {or else I wouldn't do it. I'm honest.} All you have to do is...
1) After you've finished your foundation routine, just put on some eye primer, orrrr... use the Chella Highlighter from your June 2013 Ipsy bag {if this came in your bag}. I love that thing! I use it every-single-day. I like how thick it is and how it really holds onto the color and doesn't crease. I also have Benefit primer, UD primer, ELF primer etc--love them all.
Ok, that was:
Step 1. Prime your eyes.
Next, with a light hand--don't use too much color...
Step 2. Gold. Roll your brush around in the gold color (any gold color, if you don't have this palette) and dot it onto the center of your primed eyelid. Then, you can flip the brush around and repeat on the other eyelid.
Step 3. Use the tiny bit of gold left on your brush to add a little highlight under your eyebrows. Don't make a yellow brick road up there, girl. You can just use a light-colored highlighter instead, but choose something that really matches your skin tone (nude).
Step 4. Purple. Dot the purple onto the outer corners of your eyes. Use a light hand; do not pile it on. Just gently pat it onto the corners.
Step 5. Brown. Apply the brown color to the inner corner of your eyelid (not the inner corner of your eye, but the little part of your eyelid that's left uncolored).
Step 6. Sweep the brush across the center crease of your eyelid with the brown from the inner corner. You will have enough from the inner corner to spread it over the top of the other colors. This will create a transitional color from your highlighter (under your eyebrows) to the colors on your eyelids.
I finish this look off by adding a thin line of liquid black eyeliner and some black mascara (curl your lashes, first). It takes 5 minutes from start to finish :)
Hope you enjoy this look! I may add a step-by-step photo tutorial to this, soon, if you're interested.
Love,
