What is Ubooly and What's New?

Who is Ubooly? Ubooly is an educational toy that comes to life when you insert your iPhone/iPod into the top opening--your iPhone becomes it's face. You simply download the free app for iPhone, iPod and Android (soon) to begin playing with Ubooly.

Where to purchase? You can purchase the Ubooly stuffed toy accessory in Orange, Pink (coming soon), or Green (coming soon) from Toys R Us. The stuffed toy keeps your phone protected while your little one delights in educational adventures with their friend Ubooly.

Who loves Ubooly? Ubooly is appropriate for children from 3-9 years old, although I could certainly see a younger child enjoying her company, as well. Ubooly tells jokes, encourages pretend play, tells facts about history & science, teaches animal sounds and more. 

How does Ubooly work? Ubooly has voice recognition so your child can interact without scrolling through menus or typing; your child simply speaks to Ubooly and Ubooly speaks back to your child. The natural conversation is a fun way for your child to engage in learning activities and strengthen their imaginary play skills. 

How much does the app cost? The app is totally FREE and you can try it out today through iTunes/App Store.

Introducing the NEW Ubooly Lab!

Ubooly has taken learning to the next level and introduced Ubooly Lab. This very easy-to-navigate website allows you to customize Ubooly to your child's interests and skill level.

There are lessons for children from small (3yrs) to tall (8-9 yrs), including: Grammar, Seasons, Addition, Spelling and more. There are academic lessons as well as life skills lessons (Helper Packs).

• Educational packs are created on a 5-day schedule and provide progress reports for parents.
• Interest Packs are full of fun facts and trivia about specific topics.
• Fitness & Helper Packs help with personal growth and encourage healthy habits.
• All Content packs are developed by a team of elementary school teachers and comedians. 

New lessons are continually being added to the Ubooly Lab. The Lesson Packs can be purchased with coins that you buy from Ubooly Lab. Each Lesson Pack costs approx 3 credits.

Child-Friendly App. The entire Ubooly app has been updated; the child-friendly design is very appealing to children. Your child can have an entertaining and educational experiece with Ubooly without much supervision from you. Ubooly travels well in the car, in a shopping cart and even in waiting rooms.

Ubooly can be personalized with glasses or new hair-dos. You can also feed Ubooly and customize it's home. Your child earns coins by spending time in the app. The coins can be used to buy items to personalize Uboolys home or appearance.

The Ubooly app automatically downloads Lesson Packs as you add them from the Ubooly Lab; you can also purchase the Lesson Packs from within the app.

Uboolys Love to Talk to Each Other

Just put two Uboolys together and they will carry on a conversation. This is a funny video about Ubooly being interviewed for a job--but, he's a ninja :)

Thoughts

I'm very pleased with the new additions! I love the variety of colorful toys being introduced, the Ubooly Lab and the new app updates. The soft toy accessory keeps your phone/iPod safe and helps Ubooly come to life as a cuddly, friendly creature. Ubooly is fun as a whole--the free app, the soft toy and the academic enrichment activities offered through games and Ubooly Lab.

Ubooly becomes a friend, especially since Ubooly knows your child's name and curates stories to your child's personal interests. My little one added glasses to Ubooly to match his new glasses that he just got last month. It's fun for him to be able to relate to Ubooly and learn though playing the app.
