Have you ever accidentally shocked your child from the static you had built up in your clothes? This is one of those "parenting moments" that makes you feel awful. I can remember one of the first times I ever did this to my sweet baby boy. He was in a shopping cart--all pretty and secure--and I reached over to touch his beautiful little cheek and zap! The look on his face was total shock and confusion...
"did my mom just zap my face?!"Ever since then, I've started adding fabric softener on all of my clothes and lotion on myself. Fabric softener is just one of those things that you have to use in the winter, no matter what, but it's great in summer, too, when your clothes are covered in dirt, sweat and pool water.
I started using Purex Crystals {90% natural} fabric softener in January and it has made a huge difference in the amount static in our clothes. It also adds long-lasting fragrance, which is very welcome on linens, dog beds and pretty much everything else. I usually skip adding the softener to anyone's clothes who's sensitive to fragrances on their skin, but so far, so good. It hasn't bothered my skin and I'm a door-frame-back-scratching-bear-type, so I'd know if it was making me itch.
The pouring spout of the bottle makes the crystals easy to use and measure. There's also a measuring cap that attaches to the bottle for simple use. I'm liking Purex Crystals Fresh Mountain Breeze very much! The scent is pleasantly floral, yet subtle enough to be gender-neutral. It's located with the fabric softeners at Walmart.

ReplyDeletelol it's impossible to eat them any other way ;D fun and dirty, for sure!
ReplyDeletelol thank you! I'm so glad that you found my blog! I post about Ipsy each month~stop by anytime :) The door frame scratches your back better than most people, though, right?! I'm also a buyer of mostly/all natural products and it's a challenge to find the right products and the right "home remedies" for different things. I'll be adding more stuff on here about what's worked/not worked for my household. Fabric softener is a must, though; gotta keep those babies and doggies safe from dreaded zapper! I bet your dog was crazy-confused when that happened~ thankfully, dogs (and babies) are so forgiving ♥ :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite messy food to eat , are BBQ ribs, Thank you!

ReplyDeleteYou are a hoot! I just stumbled across your blog in my quest to get the skinny on Ipsy (thank you for your Feb 2014 previews) ... and just read this post. Lol. If I didn't know better I'd think the "door-frame-back-scratching-bear-type" was describing my family! =:0) Thank you for sharing about this product, too. I've been slowly trying to wean us away from chemicals and transition to 'more natural' products ... as a result we've been sans fabric softner ... and the dog's been the one reaping the consequences. (FYI, even puppies give the 'how COULD you?' look when zapped.) Not my finer moments.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't it, though?! That's the "right of passage" food for little ones, too. You haven't lived until you're covered in spaghetti sauce ;) yum!
ReplyDeleteSame! It's so hard to not to do that~ they're just asking for it. Table Rules: Roll up your sleeves and enjoy!
ReplyDeleteyum! same, here! :) Thank you for participating & good luck to you!
