It's a Healthy Choice for Lunch: Slow Roasted Turkey Bake.

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of ConAgra Foods.

What's for lunch today? Well, I'm thinking: "Juicy turkey medallions with roasted potatoes, butternut squash and green beans topped with savory gravy and crispy onions."

Not only is this delicious, it's low in calories. Wanna know how to make this entree in under 10 minutes? All you have to do is... go to the grocery store and pick up this Healthy Choice meal! It's the Slow Roasted Turkey Bake. yum!

I'm loving the new Top Chef inspired meals and the Baked EntrĂ©es options from Healthy Choice. The Baked EntrĂ©es come in a really cool container that is lined with a special foil to help the food brown in any microwave.

It's fun to have so many options, instead of eating the same thing often. There's so many different foods to suit your mood {and nutritional needs}.

Come. Sit. Have lunch with Noah and me.

I like to cook, but...

I, like most mommies, like to prepare meals from semi-scratch for my family each day. Sometimes, I'm just too busy or too low on supplies {fresh veggies} to complete well-rounded meals for everyone. My solution: Healthy Choice meals.

I used to feel guilty for preparing microwave meals {for lunch}, instead of "real meals," but I learned a lot about frozen foods, recently. Not all frozen food is heavily processed and full of bad-for-you ingredients and so forth.

Frozen Food Facts:

  • Healthy Choice {and Marie Callender's} meals have over 80 varieties that are under 400 calories each!
  • Vegetables are picked at the peak of freshness and most go from farm to freezer within 24 hours.
  • The Dietary Guidelines of America state there is strong evidence that portion control is a good strategy for weight management.
Fresh vegetables that are frozen within 24 hours and portion-controlled meals are totally acceptable in my book. This is even better than the options that children/adults are given in cafeterias--and at an affordable price.

Healthy Frozen Meals can be Great "Kids' Meals"

I love that the meals have compartments--which are perfect for children. The modern design and dark containers really make the food colors pop; it's very appealing. My little boy will try out new flavors and veggies, simply because it's in one of these "special" trays.

Another benefit is Noah can choose which Healthy Choice meal he wants and he can even help cook it. I have taught him how to read the numbers on the package and we, together, put it in the microwave and program the correct time for the meal. He enjoys being a chef in the kitchen ;) I always remove it from the microwave and let it cool before giving it to him, of course.

March is National Frozen Food Month! :)

ConAgra Foods frozen meals give families access to real ingredients like crunchy, freshly cut vegetables, homemade pasta and ripe fruit year-round. Just like most people blanch veggies before freezing them – ConAgra Foods does too – to help preserve color, texture and keep them fresh!

Give it a try sometime! Marie Callender’s hearty pot pies are filled with tender meat, freshly cut vegetables and Marie’s authentic golden, flaky crust. And Healthy Choice recipes use chef-inspired ingredients like, apples instead of sugar for tart sweetness and a splash of red wine for a punch of flavor instead of added salt.

What is YOUR favorite Healthy Choice Meal? :)
