Maxwell House K-Cups~ Coffee à la Mode

Something Familiar and Comforting

In the vast sea of K-Cups, it's easy to find myself relying on trusty name brands and cherished favorites; that's why I'm happy to see the Maxwell House box among the K-Cup family. It's easy to recognize the brand label and know that you've found a familiar "face" in the crowd.

I'm really pleased that the Maxwell House Cafe Collections K-Cup label is similar to the traditional Maxwell House label(s). The label reminds me of my grandma's house (Nanny) where Maxwell House was often sitting on her counter~instant coffee for a busy lady. She would've loved K-Cups :)

Maxwell House also reminds me of my Mama, because when I first got married, she would send me little jars of Maxwell House coffee {I thought I wasn't really a "coffee drinker" until one of those little jars ran out... lol}. Maxwell House and I have been friends for years.

Coffee à la Mode

I grabbed some ice cream to go along with it--that'll be an ice cream cone for my sidekick and ice cream in my coffee on this very hot day. I've been doing this for a few years. Have you tried this before? If not, think about it: what do you put in your iced coffee/hot coffee? Cream? Sugar? Vanilla? Ice cream is all of these in one cold scoop.

All you have to do is... put one scoop into your cup before you brew the hot coffee over it {ice is optional}.

If you want to make an iced coffee:
  • Brew the coffee into a large plastic cup
  • Add a scoop of ice cream. Stir. {or brew over the scoop of ice cream}
  • Add lots of ice cubes and enjoy.
You can transfer it to coffee cups or drink it from the plastic cup. It's not too sweet. You can customize it by using different flavors of ice cream--caramel, french vanilla, or even mint chocolate chip. I prefer creamy ice creams instead of the ones with candy in them. This is also great for counting calories; I use one scoop of light {or fat free} ice cream, which is less fat/calories than cream and sugar :)

If you want a sweeter drink, just add some caramel syrup to it after you mix the coffee and ice cream :)

I'd Like Some Coffee in My Coffee, Please

Sometimes, there's nothing better than nice, hot, black coffee; I know, because I'm on my second box, this week.

I'm so glad that Maxwell House puts 12 K-Cups in these boxes versus the 10 that you get in some other boxes--those two extra cups really do matter. :)

The next time you're shopping for K-Cups, you should definitely check these out. The House Blend is a medium roast, making it perfect for pleasing guests and family members. Maxwell House K-Cups also come in French Roast and Breakfast Blend. I love to use a {bold} French Roast when I'm blending it with ice or making a macchiato-inspired drink. I'm very happy that I tried the Maxwell House single-serve coffee, because it has definitely made my short-list of favorites.

Here's to starting your morning off right :)
