Review and Giveaway: TriCalm Anti-Itch Gel

Over the past few weeks, I've been testing a steroid-free, anti-itch gel called TriCalm. As my regular readers know, I prefer products with natural ingredients, so I was very excited to receive a tube of TriCalm from Green Mom's Meet for my consideration and review. While the product doesn't claim to be 100% natural, it is steroid free and contains COSMEDERM-7, which is naturally derived from plants.

My Experience with TriCalm

I didn't publish the review right away, because it takes time to know if something like this is really working for you. I have sensitive skin and so does my little boy. Nearly every day, I am scratching my back with my shirt or up against the door frame {like a momma bear}, so I knew exactly what I wanted to do with this anti-itch gel--try it out on my back!

It worked well for my itching back and I am continuing to use it for that purpose, especially. I'm also using it for a tiny rash that I got (behind my ear) from changing shampoos {I know, right}; it doesn't burn the little rash and it appears to be helping the healing, since TriCalm has astringent properties. I haven't tried it out on burns, cuts or scrapes, so I can't attest to whether or not it burns when treating those cases.

I would recommend this product for itching; I've had a positive experience with TriCalm for itching. I love that it's safer than many other anti-itch products and it doesn't increase sun sensitivity {especially-great news for those with fair complexions}.

What is TriCalm?

TriCalm offers powerful relief from itching, burning and stinging caused by rashes, hives, sunburn, allergic reactions, bug bites, poison ivy and other skin ailments. A steroid-free anti-itch gel, TriCalm works on contact to help alleviate discomfort associated with minor skin irritations.

A Little More About TriCalm
  • TriCalm’s formula contains COSMEDERM-7, a compound of strontium, a naturally occurring element found in leafy green vegetables.
  • TriCalm is safe to use daily on kids and adults and is FDA-approved.
  • TriCalm is non-numbing, and works on contact to provide rapid itch relief from bug bites, rashes, sunburns, poison oak/ivy, and more. It may also help relieve dry skin and eczema-related symptoms.
  • TriCalm does not increase sensitivity to UV rays, so its safe to use while spending time in the sun.
  • TriCalm retails for $9.49 for a 2-ounce tube.
  • It's available at CVS.

Here's what I like about it:
  • It's a gel, not a cream, so a little goes a long way.
  • It contains naturally-derived ingredients and it's steroid-free.
  • The tube is pretty large, making it ideal for multiple uses.
  • It's effective at treating itching, for me.
  • It contains no dyes, so it's safe for furniture and clothing.
  • The 2oz tube is convenient for packing in diaper bags, handbags or keeping in a medicine cabinet.
The only two things that I didn't really like about it were: It has a very strong scent {much like vinegar}. This makes it very noticeable if you're wearing it around other people {school, work etc}. The scent does fade, though--it's only temporary. Also, it's more liquid, than gel--so the first time I used it, it went everywhere. {fair warning--don't squeeze the tube too hard}. This is also a good thing, though, because it's easy to blend in and it extends the amount of uses (compared to thick creams). I'd buy this in the store.

You can find TriCalm online at Facebook.com/TriCalm--where you can get great information and, possibly, a free sample! {go check it out}

  1. I would like to try Tricalm Anti-Itch Gel because my arms are always itchy because I have keratosis pilaris. While scrubbing my arms works in helping get rid of these tiny bumps, they always leave my arms itchy. I have been on the search for something that would help with this.

  2. I would love to try this product for my daughter. When she gets bitten by larger bugs she always has an allergic reaction to them, not enough for us to have to go to the emergency room, but the area always swells really bad and I have to give her benadryl for it.

  4. I'd like to try this because whenever my husband has something that itches, he scratches it until a sore forms. With this, he won't do that!
