October Julep Maven Box! Halloween, Glow-in-the-Dark & Crackle.

Fall is in the air and Halloween is just around the corner. Julep Mavens will get to choose from a selection of Halloween-themed boxes this month! Each box includes trendy colors that can be worn throughout the Fall--auburn hues, a beautiful blue & an array of deep shades. Crackle will be the effect for the month--with an assortment of white, silver, black and orange to choose from.

Two things to note:
  1. Julep polishes are 4-free, so even if you own Crackle polishes, these are a healthier alternative to the ones with formaldehyde in them. Great chance to replace your crackle color(s)!
  2. In my experience, you can use a Crackle polish alone (with no color under it) and wear it as a regular polish! I've done this several times with the other brands of Crackle polish(es). I've never tried this with a Julep polish (they're new), so I can't promise it will work, but I bet it would :)

Let's See Some Colorssss!

American Beauty

  • Eloise (aww, little Eloise): This shade of blue is really hot this season! You will be seeing blues everywhere, so you might wanna pick this up to coordinate with Fall accessories :)
  • Sabrina (the teenage witch!): this orange shade is beautiful! I'm not really one who wears a lot of neon/oranges, but I really like this one. This color is a beautiful citrus shimmer--it almost seems like it would be scented, doesn't it? :) I love how it resembles sherbert :)

BOHO Glam

  • I adore the pebble color--Lisa. That color is always classy-cool and looks great on every skin tone.
  • The white sparkle shimmer is called Hermione, which reminds me of Harry Potter, which reminds me of a certain bloggy friend of mine lol. I think she'll want the darker colors, but I laughed when I read the name of this--great name!

Julep Keira & Ursula
Bombshell
  • I almost chose this one. I love, love the auburn color--Keira. They describe it as "deep, Merlot red" and that's right on the money! Keira is a really beautiful shade.
  • The black crackle looks like lace over Keira. I like the combination of the deep red with the black. Another name winner--Ursula! "All I want is your voice! Sing! Sing!" :) She's a bad chick ;)

Julep Caroline, Leslie & Glenda
It Girl: 3 Polishes, no Quick Dry drops. Best for the polish-lover :)
  • I love both of the polishes on the left. Leslie, the dark grey with the sparkle is a total winner. It's a perfectly chic way to wear--what could be mistaken as--black. The shimmer gives it an edge.
  • Caroline: The deep, burgundy shimmer is very sophisticated. I wouldn't have noticed the shimmer, if I hadn't read the description of it. I love this shade, as well.
  • The silver-metallic crackle is called Glenda (the good witch, right?). I'd love to wear that one alone or over another light shade, because I'm really into white/silver nails, right now :)

A Special-Edition Maven's Choice Box Has Been Added to the Regular Variations

Look what just got added to the choices for this month! I love, love, love this box!!! It's amazing! But, I really want the box I chose, too. lol. I hope they offer this again, soon, for those of us that wanted one of the original boxes. The Maven's Choice box is a beautiful selection of colors that are perfect for Fall :) Julep has a-maz-ing customer service! How sweet is it that they created another box per request

My Box

Classic with a Twist

This is my box, this month! I am so excited about it for several reasons:
  1. "Boris and Nicole: Autumn red-brown frost." That shade is amazing! I love how it's brown, but still remniscent of a red polish. It's such a beautiful shade that I can wear all Fall & Winter. I'm very excited to try it out, because it's the perfect holiday color for both Halloween & Thanksgiving: LOVE!
  2. Gwyneth is a very sheer pink polish that I will be using over my other polishes. I love to have colors like this to add over my cream polishes; it's like having a new version of a color you already love. I also love sealing in nail art with a sweet color like this, as well. It's a very sheer--almost clear--pink shade. When worn alone, your nails will just look healthy with a nice little shine of pink on them :)
  3. The Quick Dry Polish Drops!!! Could I BE any more excited about this product!! (Chandler, anyone?!) I do not have time for my polish to dry 99% of the time. I start painting my nails--thinking I have a minute of peace--then the phone rings, someone shows up, I have to leave, someone needs me etc. I'm absolutely stoked that this time-saving product is in the boxes this month! You can also add it on or get another one! (I bet I will, ha!) I'll mention more about it in the next section, because there's one more thing I wanna tell you about.

Add-Ons for the October Julep Maven boxes!

Sofia

Temporarily SOLD OUT! (as of Friday, 9-21-12) This is Sofia & it glows in the dark!!
It's a pretty, bright shade of sparkling green :)

Kate

This is Kate! You might recognize this from my Julep giveaway that I have going on!! This shade is so pretty. It's a pure, shimmery white color. It works great under bright polishes to make them more intense. It's also great for doing tips, designs or even wearing alone. I love to wear this under a dark shade, too, to keep it from staining my nails. You can also use a base coat for that, but sometimes, you go with what you have on-hand, right :)

Coming Soon - Julep Quick Dry Polish Drops

Quick Dry Polish Drops!! This is such a life-saver for drying your nails quicker, so you can avoid messing up your mani/pedi. I am also happy that it has nourishing ingredients in it: Vitamin E and Sweet Almond Oil. The dropper will make this easy to use, as well. It's always nice to see new products from Julep, because Julep creates safer alternatives to traditional nail care products. I really love that everything from Julep is free of formaldehyde & formaldehyde resin, toluene and DBP. I have a feeling these drops will become a regular part of my routine--yes to speed-drying! :)

Someone as beautiful, smart and funny as you are must have something to say about this, right? ;) So, what do you think?
