Repurposing my Birchbox Boxes

A lot of people ask, "What do you do with your empty BirchBoxes?" I thought I'd take a few photos this morning and post them to show y'all what I do with mine :) 

I have a lot of different types of makeup, so I always put it in something smaller and carry it to the kitchen table to "get ready." I like to put my makeup on at the kitchen table, because there's a lot of natural light in there. Natural lighting is important, because it's what you really look like--it's you at your most natural state. If you use natural lighting to do your makeup, you won't put on too much or put it on too dark. Try this if you don't do it already.

Box 1. The Natural Look.

This first box is what I put on today. This is my "girl next door" look. It's mostly light colors and it's great for any occasion. I like to wear my makeup really simple when I'm around the house--actually, I wear it that way most of the time.


Contents of the first box:

• Garnier Skin Renew BB Cream (I won in Christina's giveaway!! Thank you, girl!)
• Philosophy's eye shadow duo "grace"
• Philosophy's healthy cream blush. "lit from within"
• Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes (natural, simple, pretty. I love the wand)
• Physician's Formula talc-free mineral powder (I'm so loyal to this product. You just don't know.)
• Zoya in Mia (the BEST romantic, mauve nail polish--also 3-free!)
• NYX Lipstick in Vitamin (MyGlam June. Love it!)
• Marbella eyeliner (MyGlam June)
• Make up sponge. (simple. classic. functional. staple.)

That's my "natural box." As you can see, most of the products in it are actually healthy, natural makeup, so the name "natural box" is a little more than just a style description. I had to try out the new products from MyGlam since I just got it this week!

Box 2. Long-Wearing Makeup

This box is what I'm wearing tomorrow. It's around 90 degrees right now--and while it feels nice with the unusual breeze and unusually low humidity for this time of year--it's still hot! I'm a nervous person, so I will sweat in like 2 seconds; long-wearing makeup is a must for me ;)

• Tarte LipSurgence in the color Lucky (Thank you, BirchBox! This is 1 of my 2 fave lip products)
• Korres Mascara (I did a review on this. This stuff doesn't budge & washes off easily)
• Urban Decay Primer Potion (gotta have it)
• Revlon Colorstay Mineral Powder (clearance sale! $2.36, what?! yeah!!! It's lightweight.)
• Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush ( BOGO sale. I'd love to own all of the colors.)
• Makeup Sponge (mmm hmm)

The Brushes

I also have most of my brushes stuffed into this MyGlam case, haha. It's a pretty pink color and it's easy to carry around. As you can see, I have brushes from Sephora, ELF and MyGlam in there. I love them all!!

Wrap Up

Well, there ya go! That's what I do with my boxes. I will put makeup in them and put the lids back on them and set them aside for tomorrow. It's fun to mix it up and plan ahead. It makes getting ready easier for me & I can carry the box around if I need to move.
