Glamour To Go Palette
Why this little palette rocks:
- It's small--great for travel or purses
- It's all there--all the color you need for your face
- Bronzer AND Blush! They are great colors, too. I have a light complexion, so it doesn't take much for my skintone, but if you have darker skin, or want a bolder effect, consider putting this on wet. You could put it directly over your foundation before you use powder or wet your brush. I actually love the bronzer shade so much, that I'll probably repurchase it in the future--either alone or in a set.
- Pigmented Eyeshadows--most of the colors in this kit are very bold and it only takes a tiny bit. The lighter colors are lighter and drier--this is common for light shades, so I don't really think anything of this.
- Lipgloss--it's easy to apply and looks good mixed with other lip colors. I don't use much of it, because it's really shimmery, but I do mix it with my other lip colors, regularly. It's a really pretty summer color.
- Compact case--the bottom drawer slides in and the top closes. It's all right there like a tiny makeup case.
- Mirror--good size and quality. You can clearly see yourself; it's not a funhouse mirror.
- Fave shades--the bronzer, blush, the golden brown, the gray and the purple. I like the silver a lot (have it on right now), but it has glittery fallout, so I avoid it when I'm in a hurry.
What needs a little improving:
- The glittery fallout in the silver color. Its a beautiful shade, though. I put it on my brush and tap it against my hand and let the glitter fall out before I apply it. If you use a good amount of primer, it will stick to your eye pretty well. It's very similar in practice to Urban Decay's Cowboy eye shadows--you know how they have a lot of glitter pieces, but they're pretty... same concept.
- The only real complaint from others is that the lipgloss is between the blush/bronzer. I totally get why they don't like that and it could benefit from a little lid over the lip gloss, but here's a simple solution: use a small blush brush and don't shake powder everywhere! I don't like to waste good makeup, so I always use it carefully. I use a blush brush and just lay it on the color--sideways--and wiggle it back and forth, then I apply it to my face... no need to create a bronzer cloud to walk out of... you look good--no cloud effect needed ;)
