Also, if you have a second, stop by and answer a few of these short questions, pretty please. Let's be respectful and not say that any one way of schooling is "better" than the other, but instead, give the reasons why we prefer the choice that we made (are considering).
If you're not homeschooling, or if your child is too young, feel free to tell what your education plan may be in the future (for your child).

These are the questions on my mind this morning--and probably the questions most parents wonder about.
- Why do you homeschool?
- Do you plan to homeschool through your child's high school graduation?
- Did you try the public school system before you decided to homeschool?
- How do you incorporate social activities and field trips into your child's curriculum/days? The bottom line: How do you keep your child from feeling lonely/secluded?
- Does the public school let your child participate in "specials" or other activities?
- Does your child have a learning disability or other exceptional need that influenced your decision to homeschool?
- If you were starting all over, what would you do differently?
- Give me your best advice for someone who has a skeptical family/community, but feels that homeschooling can be both academically rewarding as well as socially rewarding for a homeschooled child.
- How did you create your curriculum? Do you use a package/virtual school, instead?
Thank you for taking the time to read these questions. Thank you for any of the questions that you take the time to answer--this means the world to me. If you have a link-up for young homeschoolers, please leave a link in the comment section below. If you don't have/know of a link-up for young homeschoolers (primary school), but would like for me to create one (in the future), please let me know.
Please feel free to share your homeschooling blog in the linky below. This isn't a hop, but instead, it's an index page for homeschooling blogs that will be kept on my sidebar (like a blogroll) :)
Have a wonderful day and thank you for stopping by my blog "house" :)
Love,
I'm really interested in seeing what people link up, too. I can't give any advice yet, since the Nug is so young, but I really would like to see how people handle homeschooling. We most likely won't do it with our kids, but I'd love to get some ideas on activities and educational learning items that homeschooling parents use.
ReplyDeleteI hope to gather some people for this and make it into a page on my blog {like a blogroll} instead of a hop. It needs a little promotion.
ReplyDeleteI planned to homeschool before my baby was even born--seriously. When he turned five and was ready to register for school this year, I couldn't decide how I felt about it, mostly because our school is new and very safe/modern with a lot of security and its in a family-friendly neighborhood (rural area). He started this week and he seems to really like it, so far, but I can't shake the yearning I have to homeschool and incorporate a hybrid method --where you can take them to public school for activities (art, music, sports), but you teach the academics at home. I'm wanting to find out more about how it's going for other families, as well ;)
Be sure to check the laws in your state and see what the school will provide for you as a homeschooling family (in case you're interested in that part). It really is a tough decision and I'm still on the fence and my baby is at his 3rd day of kindergarten right now <3
Thank you for reading and commenting!
I can't wait to see the link-ups. My daughter is only 3 but I have been thinking really hard about homeschooling her. The more I learn and hear about schools now, the more I think she would benefit from being taught at home. My husband and I both are still on the fence about it so I would love to see stories from parents who chose to homeschool. Thanks for posting this!
