Favorite: Llama Llama Red Pajama App in iTunes

I wrote a review a few months ago about how much my Noah loves to read the Llama Llama book series, seen here and here. Well, I found an app for Llama Llama Red Pajama by Anna Dewdney that is available for iPhone and iPad! They were running a special, so I was able to purchase it at a discount (yay!). I must tell you... this is the BEST e-book I've ever owned--even for adults! lol. It's amazing! Noah already loves that book, but the interactive e-book takes things to a whole new level. Let me tell you  more about it.

What it is:
An application that is available for iPhone and iPad. It's an interactive e-book that was released by Penguin Group (USA). The cost in the app store, right now, is around $12.99--which is the price of the printed book. If you buy this app, you can use it on your different Apple devices associated with your account.

Update! iTunes has a special to get the Llama Llama Red Pajama app for $4.99 (what I paid for it!!). Here's my referral link: Llama Llama Red Pajama! I'm so happy there's a sale happening for this app :) The regular price of $12.99 is still a good price for this particular app, but the sale price is a nice perk. :)

What it does:
The e-book has the options of "Read to Me, Spanish, Sounds." The pages turn with a simple finger swipe across the page or by using the arrows in the bottom corners. The book is read by a female narrator and she does a great job of bringing the story to life.

What makes it extra special:
First of all, the beautiful illustrations! Anna Dewdney is an amazing storyteller and illustrator who has the ability to bring stories to life. Her rhyming paragraphs and personable characters will capture your heart and bring you back for more--your child will want you to reread the Llama Llama stories many times!

Secondly, the sound effects & animations!! If you touch the lamp, it will turn on! You can pop the bubbles from the sink, make the phone ring, tap the Little Llama Llama to make him cry out, "Mamaaa! Mamaaa!" Each page has hidden effects that your child will find each time they enjoy this story.

What are the benefits:
Reading to your child is one of the greatest gifts of your time that you can give them. Reading not only teaches your child to identify words and letters, it teaches morals/lessons, the joy of imagination, encourages language & speech development; it also teaches patience, problem solving, and how to turn pages (fine motor skills). One more very important benefit: it allows you to spend quality time together. Your child will always remember that you took the time to read with them. I still remember my grandma (Nanny) reading stories to me at night, when I stayed the night with her. I remember the books that I received as gifts--from childhood to recently--and books always remind me of certain people.

What I want to mention:
This e-book looks exactly like the printed version of Llama Llama Red Pajama. Its a digital version of the book. I like this, because we own the paper book as well. My little guy likes to touch the pages and quote the app. He will touch the llama and say, "jump! jump!" He also likes to touch the lamp and say, "turn it off!" He runs around the house saying, "Llama Llama mad at mama" and that makes everyone laugh :)

The combination of this e-book and the printed book are wonderful for language development and generalizing concepts from one place to the next--from the digital book to the printed book. I could not recommend this app any higher than I already am. It's really that wonderful :)

I hope you enjoyed this personal review of the app that we're loving. Please feel free to recommend more apps or books to us in the comment section below.

*Disclosure. I received nothing for this review. I just wrote this because I wanted to. The links are referral links that I found through my publishers offers. They are safe and will only take you the iTunes store. Hope you enjoy the discount on the e-book! As always, thank you for reading my blog :)
