"Llama Llama Misses Mama" is another genius book by Anna Dewdney. What you may not know about Anna Dewdney, is not only does she write these fabulous books, she also illustrates them!! How wonderful can one woman be? Anna Dewdney is an inspiration to aspiring writers, like me :)
An Overview
"Llama Llama Misses Mama" is the story of little Llama Llama's first day of school. He is a little apprehensive about all of the new faces, activities and places. Llama Llama's classmates and teacher encourage him to participate in activities and try to make him feel comfortable, but he feels shy and misses his Mama. At the end of the story, Llama Llama learns that his Mama will come back for him after the school day ends, so he decides that he can love Mama and school, too :)
It's a beautiful story that we can all relate to. This book would make a wonderful gift for a child that is about to start school. My little boy will start school next year (nooo!! not my babyyyy!!), so I will definitely be reading this book to him (and myself) again ;-)
I love how the book illustrates both Llama Llama's fears and the fun activities at school; it's a very positive book that gives a healthy view on separation anxiety. I love this book as much as the Llama Llama books in the series.

I do, too! I can actually recite it without reading it, now :) That makes it easier to show the pictures, right ;) Thank you so much! I'm returning the friendship to you. Happy Saturday!
