Gossip Girl Birchbox Review May 2012

The theme of all Birchboxes this month was Gossip Girl. Gossip Girl is a popular American teen drama television series; it airs on the CW Mondays, 8/7c. Many of the products in this Birchbox are new product launches. Read on to see what was included in my Birchbox this month.

This is an excellent way to promote the television show--the sleeve, the information card and even a trivia card. I hope that they do this with more companies!

I love the pretty yellows & pinks--especially, against the contrast of the black outter-packaging. The neon colors inside of the box are also appropriate for the neon trend this Spring. Birchbox does well with integrating current trends into their boxes; love the headband!

Color Club Nail Polish in the color Disco Nap. I love that this polish covers perfectly with just one coat. The color is exactly as you imagine it from the bottle--gold, flashy and shimmery. I will probably use this as an accent.

Arquiste Perfume. This fragrance has a very mature and sophisticated scent. I wanted to say that I didn't like it, but there's something about it that's just, I don't know, likeable. You should test it out in a store to see what you think of it. It's very different from the fragrances that I wear.

 Blendercleanser. This is intended to clean the Beautyblender cosmetic sponge that you can also purchase through Birchbox.com or other stores. This product can be used on any of your makeup brushes and tools. Its important to wash your brushes regularly to keep the bacteria away. Oh, and this has a fresh herbal, lavender scent. 

Dr Jart BB Cream! I've been wanting to try this for so long, but haven't been able to find a sample of it. I received one in my box and I'm wearing it today--it's very comparable to a few other brands that I've tried. BB Creams are very popular in other countries, but are just making an appearance in American stores, recently. In fact, I asked a counter clerk about buying one a few months ago, and she didn't even know what it was--even though her company released one online last year! This is just to show you how new BB Creams are and how you can expect to see many of them showing up in the future. Dr Jart is a brand that was introduced earlier on and many people love it. What makes Dr Jart BB Creams special is the higher level of SPF and the promised skin-improving ingredients. BB Creams are meant to improve your skin while masking your flaws--they're not just a cover-up. I'm a fan of them and I love them because it cuts out extra steps in your beauty routine.

Twistband Skinny Headband. I love this thing! I get headaches easily and this keeps them at bay. I can barely tell that I'm wearing any of the twistband products--I have my hair pulled up in a pink twistband hair tie, right now :)  Seen here.
